How to Export Claude Animations for Instagram Reels, TikTok & Shorts
Short-form video is the fastest way to show off something you made in Claude — but Reels, TikTok, and Shorts all want a vertical 9:16 MP4, and your animation is probably wide. Here's how to export one that fills the screen.
The settings that matter
- Aspect ratio: design (or crop) to 9:16. The magic number is 1080×1920 — that's full-quality vertical for every short-form platform.
- Format: MP4 (H.264). It's what every app ingests cleanly.
- Frame rate: 30 fps is the safe default; 60 fps looks silky for fast motion.
- Length: keep it punchy. Set the exact duration in your design with
window.CLAUDE_VIDEO = { duration: 8 }.
Steps
- In Claude Design, make the canvas vertical (1080×1920 or any 9:16 size), then Share → Export.
- Drop it on claudevideo.app, choose MP4, and set the resolution to Native (or 1080p) so it matches your 9:16 canvas.
- Render, download, and upload straight to the app.
Tips for the feed
- Leave safe margins — captions and UI overlay the bottom ~15% and right edge.
- Loop it. A seamless loop (first frame ≈ last frame) autoplays forever and boosts watch time.
- Export clean, then add captions in-app so text stays crisp.
Because the render is frame-perfect, not screen-recorded, it looks sharp even after the platform re-compresses it. Try it now →
